As a Northeast Ohio family photographer, one of my absolute favorite ways to capture natural, joy-filled moments is during sessions at local farms. Whether you’re picking apples in the crisp fall air, walking through sunflower fields in summer, or searching for the perfect pumpkin, these farms create magic and make perfect backdrops for your next family session.
If you’re planning a seasonal photo shoot or just looking for a fun family day out, here are 5 of my favorite U-pick and flower farms around Cleveland that are picture-perfect and kid-approved.
🍎 1. Geig’s Orchard – Apple Picking in Medina
There’s just something iconic about apple picking in Northeast Ohio, and Geig’s Orchard in Seville (Medina County) does it right. With rows of Honeycrisp, Fuji, and McIntosh apples, it’s the perfect place for a fall family session. The trees provide a stunning natural canopy, and little ones love filling up their bags.
Photo tip: Golden hour at the orchard = dreamy light + cozy fall vibes. Add flannels, boots, and a warm-toned color palette for that perfect autumn aesthetic.

🌻 2. Medina Sunflower Farm – Summer Sunflower Bliss
Located in Wadsworth, the Medina Sunflower Farm is a vibrant summer destination featuring acres of stunning blooms. It’s ideal for romantic couple portraits, playful sibling shots, or a light-hearted family mini session. Kids love wandering the rows, and you can even cut your own stems to take home.
Photo tip: Schedule your shoot right before sunset for backlit petals and that warm, golden glow.

Located in Wooster, Ramseyer Farms offers more than 50 fall-themed attractions—and an incredible 9-acre sunflower and zinnia field that comes alive in September. Their Sunflower Days are a unique opportunity to explore, play, and capture unforgettable moments in a floral wonderland.
If your kids love corn mazes, pumpkin slingshots, and hayrides, this spot blends photo-worthy moments with genuine family fun.

5. Stoney Creek Farm – Pumpkin Patch & Fall Color
Fall isn’t complete without pumpkins and Stoney Creek Farm in Wooster delivers charm in spades. The rustic setting, family-owned feel, and endless rows of pumpkins make this one of my favorite places for October photo sessions. I personally have been going to pick pumpkins here since I was little girl!
It’s ideal for milestone photos, sibling portraits, or casual “day at the farm” storytelling.
